So, yesterday, I had some time to kill and sat in a lovely little quiet café with a good book and my thoughts.

In the booth behind me was a fidgety little lady muttering to herself and making chirpy cold calls that were louder than the “reading voice” in my head. The words “agent” and “production” drifted over into my narration and of course my ears pricked up.

After listening to her for a while I HAD to talk to her. I told her that I seriously admired her guts to just pick up the phone and hustle hustle hustle because this industry is so process-driven and so over-populated that those with the “power” just shut off.

She said that she totally needed to hear those words because she couldn’t remember the last time she had any encouragement. Talking to her was the best decision I made all day – we both got the support we needed to hear at that moment in our lives.

I left the café with a new friend and a new pair of (metaphorical) balls.

Thank you little firecracker.

I love the highs and learn from the lows. The bit in the middle is where life happens.
